This page is as comprehensive a bibliography of Auster's major works as I have been able to put together so far. It is currently divided up into five sections: Poetry & Nonfiction, Fiction & Screenplays, Related Works, Translations, Video/DVD, and Articles (featuring articles and interviews written or conducted by Auster). Some of the entries are incomplete; if you see something that you can help flesh out, or if you are aware of a text that is not mentioned on this page, please write to me at: stillman@bluecricket.com
If a book has a link associated with it, clicking that link will take you to a page that describes the book in more detail. If you wish to purchase the book, simply click on the Amazon badge next to the book on this page.
Please note that if you choose to purchase one of these books using the Amazon link that I've provided, you must immediately add it to your shopping cart; otherwise, the sale will not get credited to my account. Also, if you decide to purchase more than one book, you must return to this page and follow the link that I've provided for each book. I will not receive credit if you simply search for the book once you are at Amazon or follow a link on their site. Remember, you will get the book for the same price that everyone else does; a portion of the sale will simply be credited to my account and help provide funding for this site.

The Art of Hunger: Essays, Prefaces, Interviews
Sun & Moon Press, 1992. A more comprehensive catalogue of Auster's non-fiction career, containing the original work in addition to work done since the writing of the original. Published in paperback by Penguin Books in 1993, with the title The Art of Hunger: Essays, Prefaces, Interviews & the Red Notebook. The paperback is some forty pages longer than the hardback, most of which are presumably comprised of "The Red Notebook" (although some are also presumably the blurbs and ads that Penguin usually places in its paperback reprints). Sun & Moon also issued a limited edition of the book in 1991. |
