This is a side project composed of ex-Dream Syndicate frontman Steve Wynn, Silo's guitarist Bob Rupe, Long Ryders' guitarist Stephen McCarthy, and both members of House of Freaks. Usually collaborations like this are interesting curios at best, but this is really a great album. The feeling of serenity that filtered its way into Cakewalk seems to have rubbed off on this whole group (the album was recorded in Richmond), and the result is a warm, personal album that rivals the Dream Sydicate's Out of the Grey, the Silos' Cuba, or Cakewalk. The majority of the material seems to have been composed by Wynn (who sings on all tracks), but you can hear lyrics and guitar licks here and there that can only have been contributed by Harvey (who is credited as a co-author on all but four tracks). "When You Make Up Your Mind" and "Please Don't Hold Back" are some of the best songs from any of these artists' careers.
